Brett says: “I’ve been helping Mon in the garden really, because it’s all sort of systems go there, in the garden, ’cos I think with sort of May and June it is sort of growing season. We’ve just been finishing all the beds in the new field and putting Mypex in-between, Mypex is like underlay to stop the weeds, to help reduce, because the beds themselves have quite a lot of weed in them, and that itself is quite time consuming, so I mean to do the paths on top of that is just, so to put Mypex down just helps prevent the weeds popping up really, and helps to save some time. It’s really just been all systems go with the green bit, we are team green, me, Simon and Mon…

Simon says: “I did try some pottery, Sarah had to peddle it, the pottery bit was alright, we made some tiles and stuff, they wanted nonsense ones to put on the walls. I’ve been with Sarah doing art work and Mon in the garden, I don’t mind, I’ve been in the garden, planting leeks, me and Brett are in her team, Mon’s dream team…

I‘ve enjoyed it, really enjoyed it here, they’re lovely people, it’s been good, it’s doing physical with good people, and it definitely aids recovery, but you’ve got to do it yourself, you can’t have a pill or anything to get better, you have to make some sort of effort, it’s a bit like giving up drugs, fill your time, it’s safe here isn’t it and you don’t want to be sitting at home with your mind spinning…”

Brett says: “this  place, you know you just come here and no one judges you, and you’ve just got support from everybody, from you know, whether it’s work you’re doing in the day, if it’s in the wood shop or you know the garden, or the art department, you know whoever it’s with, you know you’re going to have er, it’s going to be a good day, you know it’s going to be a good day, or your chatting to Dr Parsons, which is always rewarding, it’s just really good, I am so grateful, I feel like has time has gone on, I’ve managed to be able to give a lot back as well, it’s nice that you know that I can do that really, show my appreciation, so I’ve been gardening mostly with Mon and I’ve had a few trips out in the Mon mobile…”
