I made Sarah some plates for her Christmas present… that was during my time [on day release from the local prison], when I was learning… Sarah said like, oh I’d love to have some wooden plates… so I asked the project manager if I could make her a set for Christmas, so I did a set of six… it was my way of saying thank you for all the help and all the things she’d done for me… because in prison you can’t take anything in or out… you can write a letter or something, but that’s as far as it goes… so to be able to do that was a nice way of saying thank you…
We quite often make something for somebody’s birthday… I’ve made all sorts of little bowls and that… I’ve made an awful lot of things, when you think about it…
